Summary:
4.1
If you’re looking to give yourself a helpful massage at home, the options you find online can sometimes be rather limited. Many massagers are either out of your price range or have laughable features and outcomes. The Wahl Deep Tissue Percussion Massager is a different story. With is Accupoint Technology, the single massage node flexes with movement enough to replicate the tension relief that a professional massage would provide.
You also have the option to vary the intensity of the massage you give yourself. Grip isn’t a problem thanks to the ergonomic design. With up to 3,350 pulses per minute, the tension in your neck, back, and shoulders doesn’t stand a chance with this massager.
How Well Does the Wahl Percussion Massager Work?
The massage nodes that are included with this massager provide the right levels of therapy when there are sore muscles that need some help. The flat disc node is lovely because it provides a general deep tissue massage. The deep muscle node provides percussion action, while the four-finger flex node provides more of a touch massage.
Add in the Accupoint node to target a concentrated area and the tension you’ve got will fade away quickly for a surprisingly fair price.
There is a certain heft to this massager, but it isn’t overly bad. The average person should be able to use it with one arm reasonably well. For some with mobility issues, the shape of this particular handheld massager might offer some difficulties, however, especially if those issues involve the shoulder, elbow, or wrist.
It isn’t overly powerful, which makes the percussion feature feel more like a deep vibration than anything. It’s a good option for those who want more than an entry-level massager, but don’t want to spend the high amounts for a premium model.
Here’s What We Discovered During Our Review
- The massage heads on this model require a lot of care to maintain. They fade and crack pretty easily if kept in direct sunlight. They don’t like high moisture environments either, so leave them out of the bathroom too.
- To keep costs down, the manufacturer has incorporated plastic parts internally with the massager and heavy use of the vibration mechanism tends to rattle them apart over time.
- We found that it does a great job with new muscle tension. For chronic soreness, muscle knots, and other targeted issues, only the Accupoint node tends to make an impact.
- There is a certain “bulkiness” to this massager that has some good points and some bad points. It takes a little while to get used to holding it and this model is somewhat top heavy. When you leverage that to your advantage, however, you can get a pretty solid massage finished in 10-15 minutes.
For an entry-level type of handheld massager, the Wahl Deep Tissue Percussion Massager is better than halfway decent. It settles in, works on the problem, and begins to reduce tension immediately. Given enough time, it should be able to handle the maintenance of chronic conditions as well.
