A great foot massager should be able to provide powerful relief. It should also provide a consistent user experience so that when tired feet need a massage, there is confidence that the massager will work. With the Belmint Shiatsu Foot Massager, you’ll find that there are easy controls to use that will deliver a deep, kneading massage that rapidly improves how tired muscles feel.
Unlike some foot massagers, this model primarily focuses on the front half of the foot. The manufacturer’s description states that this is because the “front half usually bears most of the weight.” If you have heel pain that needs relief, you’ll find this foot massager will struggle to deliver.
How Well Does the Belmint Shiatsu Foot Massager Work?
The dual foot bed design of this foot massager is easily its greatest strength. You slip your feet into the unit, turn it on, and it will do the work for you. Instead of kneading Shiatsu heads, you receive a rotational massage for each foot. The dual bed design creates independent massages for each foot, which does create an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
All of the controls for this foot massager are conveniently placed on a center console, which allows you to alter your massage experience by using your toes. There are commands for changing the pressure, speed, heat, and power of the massage so a customized experience can be designed.
We do like the fact that the heat function is separate on this model. On a hot day, a hot foot massage is not always the most relaxing experience.
The design of the Belmint Shiatsu Foot Massager is also important to note. It is quite sturdy and stays put during use. You don’t have to worry about it sliding around the floor as you’re trying to relax after a tough day.
What We Observed During Our Review
- This foot massager doesn’t accommodate larger feet very well. Even a size 12 foot may feel discomfort when using this foot massager.
- There is an adjustment period to this foot massager that virtually everyone will need to endure. We had to use the lowest setting and it was still uncomfortable for the first couple of uses. Gradually work your way up to higher settings to avoid discomfort.
- Although the heat setting is nice to have, especially since it can be turned off, the amount of heat generated by this unit is somewhat questionable. It feels more like the temperature of lukewarm water than therapeutic heat.
- It will not massage the top of the foot. If you have smaller feet, you may be able to receive a partial arch or heel massage with this unit. If your foot size is 10 or above, however, it really does only massage the front part of the foot.
For those who need a foot massage for a specific reason, especially along the back half of the foot, the results from this massager may be somewhat disappointing. If you tend to be on your feet all day, however, the Belmint Shiatsu Foot Massager will take away the fatigue rather effectively. That is where this unit earns our recommendation.
